Zip errors?

I finally got my hands on a SCSI zip drive after being cheap for like 3 years. I am trying to format a new zip disk, and I am getting an error on SCSI 6, and it wont even show 6. I set it to 5 and it is still saying conflict or error on SCSI 6- wont let me format save or anything. Please help me out.
