SCSI Question......Yeah I know....

A quick question for anyone that can answer? I tried to look it up and didn't find the specific answer to my question. I know that there is a difference in the actual SCSI drive as far as Parallel vs MAC (the other SCSI) but is there a difference between the parallel SCSI cable vs the MAC(the other SCSI cable). The reason I ask is cause I just got a MPC2000XL-MCD and I tried hooking up a ZIP Drive that works perfectly on my MPC2000(classic) with the ZIP Drive cable (50 to 25 pin) from a Parallel Zip Drive and it does not work. Is it the cable or drive?

Parallel Zip drives do not use SCSI cables. In fact, I am not aware of any Parallel Zip drives that have 50 pin connectors.

What is "other SCSI"? Is that something different than regular SCSI? You should really try searching outside this forum since most all of this is easily found in hundreds of websites, including the manufacturer of the device in question.

yeah.....I'm asking is there a difference in the cable? The actual problem I'm having has not only happened on the MPC2000XL that I have now but on my friend's MPC2000XL that I tested the Zip drive on. Like I said the Zip drive works cause it works on the MPC2000 that I also have......

you need a 80 pin. the cables in the classic and in the xl are different. You can buy an adapter at any computer store for around 45 usd

ok...Imma try that and see what happens...and report the outcome
