There is no ADAT on or for the 2k/2kxl.
"Im just trying to figure out the cheapest way possible and still be able to edit/mix the eight tracks individually"
You won't be going the RME route then.
"hey thanks a ton for that. thats exactly what I was talking about in my non tech/no computer/recording knowledge way. Im gonna check out those RME products. you rule dude."
I guess you will then
Lampdog... dude... was any of that editorializing really necessary?
I know RME ain't the cheapest shizz out there but I gave him a knowledge bump about getting it second hand. The extra $$ I spent on my RME was worth it for me because it has been trouble free since Mac OS 9 and they have constantly updated drivers right up to the present. Sometimes affordability can be measured by how much you pay AND how much BS you have to put up with from the manufacturer. Feel free to suggest some more affordable 8 input cards.

No really, anyone suggest some cards. The field of i/o cards is a tough one because you can't try them out like an MPC2500 and if it requires opening your CPU to install any previous advice is worth hearing before you have to futz with your system.
I think that I covered that the 8 out wasn't ADAT and the later post by Sensei would make it obvious that one didn't exist, but it would be cool if it did.
Oh that Lampdog sure does likes to wild on them newbies. Silly rabbit
Slick (first post with smilies, I feel like a 12 year old, kewl!)
