are 8 outs really necessary?

BTW, I track out my sh!t one track at a time on purpose. Takes longer, but I start with the snare, then kick, so by the time I got those two tracked and I'm doing the others, I can use the time that I'm tracking out, and while the rest of the tracks play along, write some lyrics. Also, I feel like I got a lot more control over the signal when I do one at a time. I know I could use the mixer in the mpc, but I just feel better doing it my way, even though it takes 4 times longer.

I think You´ll should get an midi sync into your set up ..

even if you get the 8out expansion

you might want to arrange your sequnces with more than just 8 tracks..

I arrange my seq with about 16 tracks ..

kicks hihats snares cymbals handclaps percussion bassline + subbass might have an main mellody +some sticks for my mellody & some fill ins with extra chords vocal samples even if its all sampled I try to put every sound on different seq track ... just to make it easier when i mix every thing down on the boards ..

if you want ti stick with the stereo outs, you can track 2 sound in one pass, just pan the sounds hard left and right

I heard the Main outs provide better sound quality than the ones on the 8 board which are a little weaker...so its better to take the time to track your sounds out seperately out of the main out.

Did the person that told you that also happen to be selling bridges? And you bought one?

I already know why the answer is not true, but I would love to hear the subjective procedure they used to arrive at this conclusion.

the guy said the converter on the main outs are btter than the ones on the 8 outs board....he uses the 4000.

I've also heard 2 differnt people here say the same about the 2000XL.
