damn u zip (to pc)

sup, basically trying to connect my scsi drive to my pc via parallel port

is this possible?? so far ive not been able to do it having installed the drivers. im also not sure which is the correct driver to install; the one for the scsi, or parallel?

why not buy a cheap usb zip drive and have two. one scsi for the mpc and one usb for the computer...

as far as the other stuff im not sure man.

thats an option but i think im gonna get the card reader eventually

A scsi zip drive can only get connected to a pc via a scsi port, so your only option is to get a scsi interface installed in your pc or to get a second usb zip drive which will be probably cheaper.

How is a usb zip drive cheaper than a scsi interface? Those are like half a dollar on the bay.

I don't buy second hand computer hardware so I always think in terms of new hardware. Half a dollar for a scsi interface sound like a sharp price tho'

half a dollar? wow never knew that. i thought $15 bucks for a usb zip drive was cheap.

but its actually kinda cool having two zip drives (even though i hate the damn things ). its really easy to transfer files. but of course thats how i like it. to each his own...

but yea i think you need an scsi port to hook up an scsi drive. parallel port wont do it. (i dont think)

If thats the drive you usually have hooked up to your MPC, you're looking for trouble. It's not healthy for a drive to switch back and forth between two different operating systems (PC/MPC) You'd be better off getting a USB powered zip. People are giving them away all over the place. I found mine in a box of "FREE-Please Take" stuff in front of this business last summer.

Sorry, I have to call BS on that one. Zips have no clue as to what OS is addressing them. That is like saying your Cell phone would go bad if you alternate land line and wirelss calls.

There is a unique problem involving windows and zips, but it is preventable and has nothing to do with any type of "alternating".
