Saving and loading problems

^^^ great post that applies to almost all synths ive worked with ..
i set a song up pick out the sounds i like for that track ..assign them
to whatever MIDI channell .. the mpc sequences whatever i play on that MIDI channell 1a-16a .. save the song information on whatever synth(in my case a korg trinity) then when i wanna replay the track i load the saved MIDI sequence on the MPC and then load the song set (or sound set) from the synth ..

ive even taken the MPC to a friends lab .. banged out a few beats ..
but i knew i didnt have some of the souds he had .. so i just named all
the tracks .. then when i came home i basically plugged in sounds that were in my library .. worked a treat simply because all i was recording was the MIDI information .. which can trigger any sound you put to it.

U got it right on the nose. U need to save the settings in the synth itself as well as the mpc. If u dont save what u did in the synth, the mpc wont be able to bring it back. I usually switch banks in the synth itself, I never switch banks using the mpc. Once my beat is complete, I save the settings in the synth, then I save the .all in the mpc. I dont have to save the .aps at all I just save the .all. Only time I save the .aps is if their is sounds that im using that are loaded up in the mpc. Listen to what peeps is telling you and stop being so hard headed.

^^^^ain't nobody being hard headed homie.....I just had a question that I requested an answer for...I didn't want ways around it I wanted to tackle it right up the middle....ya feel me? Now that I clicked on the link that ol boy left and read up on it...it sounds like a good idea and I thank you for the help...along with jbeats for the midi dump answer...thanks goes out to everyone who helped on this and had the patience to help.

I just found this. I think this is what you are looking for. I mean you could save each set up in the proteus, but you can only save a limited amount of different settings in the sound modules. So eventually you will run out of places to save your settings at. This will work better, its just a little time consuming for me.


Sound Module:
Find out how you set it up to send midisysx.

Set mpc to new seq. Name the seq. appropraitley. i.e. If seq is called "trouble" name the corresponding seq. "Trouble mididump" or something like that.
make sure the mpc is set to recieve midi
On new seq. turn loop off.
Hit record play start on mpc
Hit Enter or whatever will start the midisysx dump from your sound module to mpc.
The metronome will click for a min and then you will here a slight pause between the clicks. This means the data has been transfered. One person said that you have to do that for each track of midi you got i.e. if you have 12 midi tracks on your seq. Then you have to do 12 midi dumps on the other seq. I don't do that I just do the one midi dump and it recalls all of the sounds when ever I load up the mididump seq.

No when you go to load the seq.
Just make sure you have the midi out of the mpc going to the midi in on the sound module. Load the sequence that you saved the midi data on. And hit play. Samething will happen. The metronome will click and then pause. You can watch the sound module too. When the data is transfered it will change the sounds to your original settings. Make sure to specifiy which seq. is which. Ex: Heat=orignal seq. HeatMidi=midi data for seq.
