^^^ great post that applies to almost all synths ive worked with ..
i set a song up pick out the sounds i like for that track ..assign them
to whatever MIDI channell .. the mpc sequences whatever i play on that MIDI channell 1a-16a .. save the song information on whatever synth(in my case a korg trinity) then when i wanna replay the track i load the saved MIDI sequence on the MPC and then load the song set (or sound set) from the synth ..
ive even taken the MPC to a friends lab .. banged out a few beats ..
but i knew i didnt have some of the souds he had .. so i just named all
the tracks .. then when i came home i basically plugged in sounds that were in my library .. worked a treat simply because all i was recording was the MIDI information .. which can trigger any sound you put to it.
