Forgive me for bein dumb - PGM question!

im assuming that on the xl, when loading up samples, you have to press the pad you want the sample on before pressing do it...

if thats the case, goto the bank you want, press the pad, then DO IT like nike

I have an mpc2000xl for a long time now! but since a few days I got my external cd-rom workin for me... so I burned a lot of samps and pgm's!

My question (I dead read the whole manual and tried a lot of stuff)

How do I get my (examples) BASS.PGM under pad bank D
and my DRUM.PGM under pad bank A
you cant assign programs to pad banks. what u can do is load a sound, assign it to a pad, then use the 16 levels button to vary the pitch/tuning

for instance
i have bass.wav assigned to pad 12d or d12 or wahtever
while in the main screen, i hit 16 levels, scroll to tuning, then hit do it

now i have a bass note tuned at 16 different pitches
but as soon as i hit the 16 levels again, i cant do that anymore. in order to get back to the varying bass...i have to hit 16 levels again to get there.

I know you got drum 1 drum 2 drum 3 etc.
these are your vaying programs. your drum program assigned to drum 1, main sample to drum 2, adlibs to drum 3, and whatever assigned to drum 4...

thats hypothetical of course....

But I just want everything underneath drum 1 so I can press pad bank A and have my drum samples there and when I switch to D to find my Bass samples there!!!
this really isnt necessary. get used to switching tracks and programs, because thats the way it works. if you dont like it, sell it and get something else more suited to your needs...
I hate this mix and match **** when you need to switch between drum 1 and 2 etc.

@smoove 3 no I didn't mean just one sample after another I know how to load the samples and assign them to a specific drum pad...

@issues thanks but cut me sum slack hahaha I'm from the Netherlands I know how to do a lot but I want to forget the whole drum 1 and 2 3 4 stuf...

How can I just load a few pgm's without switching anything - I just want to have the complete pad A bank filled up with drumstuff snares kicks etc.
and then for instance pad bank B filled up with bass...

both the pgm's I want to load have 16 samples... so with drum.pgm I can fillup pad bank A with drums and then I want to fill up B with 16 bass samples...

I know this is possible but how :s because If it isnt possible that means I can only load 1 pgm and then I need to do 1 sample after another to fill up pad banks B C and D...

You get where I wanna go???

alrite....

start with one program
for this example we'll use the drum program (drum.pgm)

load drum.pgm

load bass.pgm next

open up drum.pgm in the pgm screen
select pad bank b

assign all the sounds from bass.pgm into the drum.pgm sequentially

tune them up/down as needed

thanks I did figure that bit out as well but that means that I need to pud all them other sounds underneath all them drum pads thats gonna take some time I just wished I could load in four pgm's and directly put em onder pad banks a b c d without any fuzzz
