Needing a lil help.

I'm really trying 2 step my production game up. I have the MPC 2000XL-(MCD) and the Roland Fantom X7 keyboard. Just wanted to know would I need Pro Tools or a Digital Recorder to get my music onto a cd?

you need something to record your beats into wether its software or a hardware recorder. pro tools is just one program to choose from. there's plenty of things out there to get your music recorded. I use Adobe Audition for editing samples and stuff and it also has a Multitrack on it. I also use Cubase sometimes to record if I track my beat out. once you get it recorded and in a format that you can burn with, you're straight.

Thank you for answering. Yes, I do have a computer. I use it 2 put my samples onto flash card and then load them into my sampler. I'm also having a few problems with my memory. For instance, I transferred a 12 second sample in WAV format onto a compact flash and loaded it into my MPC, but my MPC said that it didn't have enough memory. Do I need 2 expand my memory or is there a way that I can maybe shorten the sample?

well if it tells you theres no more memory then you have too many samples loaded up. delete the samples you aren't using in any programs (i think thats the purge option) and free up some space.

if you have a computer and you want to use software to record your music, find a software sequencer or audio editor or something. Pro Tools is one of them...

yes...expand your memory

its really cheap...and definitely worth it. i only use 1 chip now (the other chip was fking things up), but its a hell of alot better than no chips

the mp only holds 10secs of samples--standard. i suppose thats all u have now.

get some ram...
