about hookin up a scsi cd rom

i read tha mpc manual and it said dont just hook up any cd rom to my mpc. Ive got a scsi cdrom for a tascam 788 digital recorder and im contemplatin on hookin it up and seein what happens but i dont wanna mess anything up, can anyone help out itd be much appreciated

I believe they were speaking of compatibility issue. Besides you have to have the right sized scsi connector. I add that because that particular size isn't as common as most would think, or as common as they use to be. If it's not compatible the MPC simply wont recognize it.
