around where i live, i just bought a used mpc...it costed 1200, but all i had to do was put down an installment payment of 300 dollars and i was good..threw it on a credit card..
the easiest part was buying it, the hardest part is keeping it because in 2-3 months, i'll be out of a job

There has been enough said about this topic, but here is something to remember. If you have to stretch a bit to get a good USED mpc... you can do it because the resale value never depreciates. You can always sell it with ease in a pinch. I sold my old 2k back in the day for no loss ($800)and then purchased a mint XL last week for $600. I made $200 on the deal. Keep that in mind.

the truth. i bought and sold 3 diff mpc's and ended up making a few hundred off them. u just gotta be patient and stay on top of it. ebay is cool but yo check craigslists.
