okay...

i've had this problem for a while. every once in a while my pads just stop qorking...then i have to lean on my mp to put whatever connector back in place...

i thought it was a bad memory chip...took one of them out, it started acting rite for awhile, then it fked up again...

so, i opened it up (the bottom, NOT the top) and noticed there was a samll white connector on the top right corner of the board--it looked like the wires went to the pads, and other stuff on the top

it was loose...now i understood why it started working correctly when i pushed down on the top

so, i pushed it in (the little white connector) all the way, and voila--no more pad problems

note: this is NOT the clear/transparent ribbon that connects on the top of the XL...its a smaller, skinny connector on the bottom of the XL, where you put the memory.

i feel so much better now...

i really dont care if this has been discussed...all i've seen is pad connector ribbon, not the white thing on the bottom

peace the fk out
