Changing the pitch in a sample

What up everyone. My question is how do I change the pitch of a sample and make it fit the beat that the sample is riding on(speed it up or slow it down). I looked in the manual at velo/pitch. Is this what I try. Holla Back

to change the pitch of a sample do--- program-param-tune
to make it fit the beat you might have to chop it

find out how many beats it is, set the ssample to loop (on) in trim and then goto TRIM>PARAMS
input the number of beats it has and it will tellll u the original tempo of the sample
then change the tune on the bottom left to get your desired new tempo
