Painting Buttons, Part 2

the clearcoat Krylon makes ATE through the paint.

Then, when the paint finally dried, everytime I pushed a button it left a fingerprint IN the paint. It looked like ass.

Then I soaked the buttons in EZ-Off oven cleaner (which contains Lye) for two days to get the paint off and it STILL wouldnt come off.

NIGHTMARE.

i painted the volume and rec nob, the rec buttons and the data wheel and the display casing last week, came out real nice.

one layer of primer, 3 layers of car paint and 3 layers of clear.

i think the most important thing is to give the paint time to dry before adding another layer, i also painted the front and chromed the cover.

next step silkscreen, ill up some pictures tomorow.

Here's some pictures of the XL with black buttons. note that I painted them first, and then removed the paint. I then ordered black pads and buttons from VST and put those in with the card reader. They didnt have the small buttons, so not all of them are black.

I'll be ordering the small black buttons as soon as they are in stock and I have a local dude ready to paint my case. I'll post up pics after all that is finished.

Looks like mine TicToc! Well, except for the black buttons. Looks good though.
The only thing I hate about the black pads is that they collect lint and sh!t like a friggin magnet.. I rinsed them off with warm water, dried them and put 'em in the MPC. 5 minutes later, little dust specs materialized on the pads. No wonder they were $16 from VST!

I jus wanted to know from da head wid da cloen on his MPC cover how da fuk u manage dat u send it off an get it done or wot.

look for airbrushing services in your local yellowpages or do it yourself

Does any one know how much it would realistically cost me to get soemthing like dat done?
