MIDI Sync w/ MPC2000XL and Cubase LE

Hey I'm having problems syncing my MPC2KXL with Cubase. I'm using the Tascam US-122 sound card. For some reason when I hit record on Cubase it won't play the track but I'll hear the kick drum playing as the metronome. Any ideas?

just make sure it is synced right. midi out from tascam-----> midi in 2000xl
Audio out 2000xl------------> audio in tascam
go to the tool bar in cubase and sync it i cant really remember exacly where it is but when i get a chance ill get into my studio and step by step write it down for you
