Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi all, just picked up my first MPC (it's about time), it's a MPC2000XL-MCD 8 outputs and maxed on mem, and had some questions. I currently have this to go with my Motif 7.

1st, is there anyway to control the number of repeats of a sequence in song mode via footswitch? I'd like to set it so that the sequence doesn't move to the next step until I hit a footswitch, which gives a better live feel. those of you that have or remember the Ensoniq sequencer the footswitch setting was another option instead of inputting a set number of times to repeat.

2nd, Since I've been using the motif for all my production and sequencing should I dump all my .mid files into the MPC (CCF card) and let it control the motif at home and out performing?

3rd, is anyone using the MPC with a live drummer? what the best way to set this up for a drummer to follow. I did have a cheap drum machine connected to the Motif that sent a pattern(click) to the drummer to follow, but since I got the MPC I feel there should be a better way.

Thanks All, I'm learning something new everyday about the MPC.

PAGE 85, 2kxl manual is about all you are able to do.

Try both and see which is most comfortable/beneficial.

A click track is only a click track, you can do that same thing. What other way can a drummer follow along with a click track? That's the ONLY thing I can think of. I'm not a drummer and have never done this, I'm just thinking on it since you brought it up.

Thanks for the reply.
checked out pg 85, too bad it doesn't, sure would be a nice feature/update(footswitch to change Reps) on the MPC's.

I'll try your seguestion on the MPC <-> Motif

Thanks
