Dodgy 8 Outs

I bought an 8 outs for my 2000XL from Ebay (cause the local distributor has been out of stock in Sydney for nearly 3 months and i got sick of waiting). Its second hand and didnt come with instructions.

First of.. it seems to be missing a "ribbon" cable that comes off the back of the card.. is this cable required?

Secondly.. and this seems dodgy but the slots for the "SMPTE" connections dont line up.. The metal plate on the 8 outs card has two holes for the SMPTE but it comes up short..

Other than that the rest of the outs fit (not very easily though) .. im thinking i got jipped and was sold a dodgy card.

Does anyone have the instructions on how to install the card and does it sound like i have been sold the wrong card..

Are you sure it's not an 8 out board for another Akai sampler?

Yeah im not sure.. the digital in and out fit.. the one thru to eight analogue outs fit.. but the smpte in and out are covered by the plate that the 8 outs card is mounted on. When i bought it, it was advertised as an "8 outs for an MPC." When i emailed to ask if it was for a 2000xl i was answered with a yes.

And i seem to be missing the flat ribbon cable also. He didnt send any instructions with how to install it either. I was hoping that i could find some instructions on the net.. but after alot of searching i cant seem to find any..
