More than one pgm

How do i use 2 or more pgms at the same time for one sequence?

scenario:
PGM1- contains all drum sounds, all 64 pads
PGM2- contains all melodies, bassline sounds etc, all 64 pads

i set my pgm to pgm01 to create a drum pattern, then i rec in a
Sequence- track01 drum pattern.
But for track 02 i wanted to create melodies and bassline patterns, but i don't know how to access PGM 02 without putting the drum pattern i created in track 01 to a halt.

Can I access them both at the same time? If so how is this possible?

If you are using the mpc2000 u can only use one program but if u are using the XL i think u are allowed 4 programs.

I'm using the 2xl:) i just need to know how to set it so i'd be able to use more than one pgm in a seq.
A pgm change, if i'm not mistaken, uses one pgm at a time. So i guess that won't be the solution, i think....

right under where you change your track, there is a little thing that says "drum 1"

take your data wheel, and turnit to the right a little bit. now, you see the program has changed from "drum 1" to "drum 2"...and you will also see the title of the program assigned to "drum 2"
