i have the stuff you have except mines a little different cause i use Pro tools Mpowered along with other things when i'm making my beats ... but this is how i do it (This is to use reason as a soundsource, while sequencing the beat in the mpc and being able to record notes on the oxygen 8 into the MPC).
anywayz what you want to do is turn on ya mpc, then the oxygen 8 then open reason and a new session in reason. set your mpc to track 1 and underneath where it says track 1 it also says midi, change that to midi device 1. then go to your oxygen 8 and press the midi select button, then the midi channel key, then the #1 key, then enter key, then press midi select button once again. (do this regardless if it says it's already on channel 1 or not).
From there go into reason and right click at the bottom and create a redrum or whatever device you want to use. load up a sound but dont try to play them on the mpc or the keyboard yet. at the top of the devices there is a reason hardware interface, open that up and set channel 1 to redrum. As long as reason isnt having a problem with no midi input or soundcard issues, you should now be able to play pads or keys on wutever you loaded into that device.
If you loaded sounds into redrum you'll notice most of the sounds are on bank 1,2 and 3 on the mpc, also on different blank pads they do simple beakdowns by holding them down (like dropping the snare etc.) If you cant find the redrum sounds on the keyboard change the octave buttons till you get to D1 and they should play on the left side keys.
For additional channels you MUST do this in the same order, and when your making the beat and changing midi channels dont forget about changing the keyboard channels because it will easily get confused and get stuck on a channel.
When you save, save all sequences and songs (unless you loaded/recorded additional sounds into the mpc, in which case save the pgm too) then simply save reason as the same name as the MPC so you wont get confused later.
As far as midi sync mode I dont use it with reason because i use it as a sound source not as the master meaning the MPC has control, not the reason sequencer, as soon as you swich to midi sync mode, reason takes over. The only time I ever use midi sync mode is rare but I use it with ableton live if i wanna record my data from each sequence down to midi and then audio, from there I would re arrange and do my song patterns there. (which i never do lol)
The problem with this for you is that this is the way I do it using Pro tools as the main software program, reason as the sound source and the mpc as the main sequencer. My setup is essentially the same only I set pro tools channels too. That way I can just record my midi data in pro tools and record it to audio after that.
