If you don't have the 8 outs installed you don't have a digital out. If you want super clean samples the problem lies more in the analog to digital side than the Digital to analog side. In other words the sampler section of the MPC is where you'll get most noise/distortion.
You could use a computer to capture and edit your samples (soundforge, wavelab, recycle etc. etc.) and then transfer them via disk etc.
This is assuming that the computer has a decent soundcard. If you use digital all the way from input to output then you will lose some of the MPC's sound which is one of the main reasons that you'd use it IMHO. The Normal analog outputs on the MPC have been used in thousands of tracks and they are definitely good enough for clean and tight sounding samples.
Cleanness and tightness have more to do with what you sample. Providing you keep the noise at a minimum, get a good level on the samples and , most importantly, that your samples are actually decent it should sound good.
