specific question on the memory of the mpc

Hello everybody,

I'm about to order a brand new Akai MPC 2000 XL (I'm already looking forward to experiment the "feel" of the pads... Me being a long time software user) aswell as additional memory:

The best I could found was the following:

Transcend
72-Pin EDO SIMM
Non-Parity 16 MB SIMM (4M x 32 SIMM/60ns/EDO , gold-leads) (TS4MED3260G)

Will this one do the job?

Everything looks perfect expect "60ns", since Akai recommands "70 ns or above".

I've gone through tons of websites wihtout any luck. It's next to impossible for me to find a european (preferably french or german) shop selling 16mb simm ram with 70 ns/+

Again, Will the one with 60 ns do the job? Any experiences? What about the brand? Transcend...

Hope you all can help. Any reliable websites/e-shops are appreciated too. I heard vstservice.com and satech.com are good?

i have a box full, get at me if you cant find any, in the mean time, try and find some charity PC organisations tht recycle old pc's for less fortunate family's. they will have stax of old ram.

VST is the place to go to for all your Akai stuff. They are Akai's west coast service center so, everything that they have will be legit. I've never had any problem with anything that I've gotten from them. If youre not 100% sure about anything that youre ordering for your MPC, just go through these guys.

You can get the RAM alot cheaper on Ebay.

Ok, that's really cool. I try to keep that in mind, in case vstservice.com are not willing to ship their products worldwide.

Note: 60 ns is (obviously) faster than 70 ns, 80 ns, ...

I thought it might be usefull for people to know that; I was confused because of the CPU paradigm, where 2000 Mhz is "faster" than 1500 Mhz and so on.

Anyway I finally found memory for 8 € on ebay. Thanks again for the help.
