Recording into what?

Dear fellow mpc2000xl owner.

Thinking about purchasing a portable studio.
The ones that I am currently feeling is the

Korg D16

or the
ZOOM MRS8.

I am looking for people with previous expierience from hooking up your mpc2000xl to similiar eqiupment. I got 8 outputs on my mpc and my thoughts are to plug them into the porta and use the porta for eq, mixing and recordning. The reason that i would like more than 8 tracks is because i like to record live instruments and vocals afterwards. Instruments like bass, guitars and flutes.
I would be as happy as a 1000 puppys if someone was willing to fill med in with the basics.
This is my questions, i start with the stupidest one.

1. If i plug my mpc into the porta, and the porta into speakers or headphones, am I able to hear my beats without doing any recordning first?

2. Would you say its a good idea for me to buy a portable studio, and in this case, witch one would work best with my mpc?

3. Is the soundquality that will come out of a portble studio (like the Korg D16 or the ZOOM MRS8) by "demo-only" or "cd-quality"?

4. How is EQ with a portable studio?

5. What are the other pros and cons about using a portable studio?

That's pretty damn happy.

mpc -> porta -> amp/recvr -> speakers

They will all work with your mpc, "best" is whatever is best for your workflow, whatever fits your needs, that's the "best". Only you know what you want and need.

I'm heard sound quality from zoom gear and the d16, cd-quality. But remember you get what you put in.

If I had to pick one of the 2 I'd go for the korg since that one can record multiple tracks at same time. On the other hand,if I were to buy a dedicated multitrack I'd go for the yamaha aw1600.

Do you got a Yamaha yourself?

No not yet, for the moment I record my stereo mix on a boss br-532.

Thinking about getting myself a yamaha AW16g.
My idea is to assign my loops and drums to my mpc outputs and then record them simultaniously to the Yamaha. Then i will handle mix pan and eq on the Yamaha, and after this add live instruments and vocals.
I pretty much already said that, but i guess what i am wondering is:

1. Will that work?
2. Is that an option for someone who wants soundquality that is above a regular demo?
