I have a problem when making beats

Lamp I just got put on to that, About a month ago. I been using soundforge since 4.5 but never knew what auto region was for, just gotta spend a lil time with the tools and things get easier

Tweak your auto region settings to get EXACTLY what you want and it's
the feature that will save your soul.

ie, I can take and instrumental, auto region w/ my saved tweaks and in 1 minute have at least 50 chops of drums, riffs and loops outta 1 song.

70% of that will be immediately useable to me.

Chop on your mpc and just try to think intelligently and logically.

Does Sound Forge have a function similar to Recycle's stretch?

I love chopping on the XL, Zoning is the best feature on that machine

So far that is my favorite feature to use.

in trim mode hit loop turn loop on then hit edit turn to bpm get exact bpm then only chop in even zones however many you may need, when you want to stop at an uneven point just cut down the last portion of the zone were you want it to end or start. you should be able to sequence the even chops easier, remember the decay envelope prevents the end of the sample from playing all the way through, so you can insert silence or copy each sound individually with a little at the end. then if you think about it you can find other ways. you have to study the sequencer and length of your samples. yes its work and it takes a certain amount of time.

Been using Recycle since version 1.7 from back in 96. Super good program for chopping phrases and making single hits from anything. Sample yourself falling down the stairs and you'll get some great rhythm sounds and after chopping you can quantize that ****....my shoe!

Co-sign. Recycle is the best for choppin. The best thing is that it gives you a Midi file when exporting as an Akai file. Useful for beats that have really small chops or beats that don't contain an even number of chops.

I like soundforge too. The Looping tools are cool. And it's real easy to use.
Ableton Live is great for looping anything but there's something about the sound of the audio engine that I don't like. Can't put my finger on it.

Same goes for Reason. There's a ton of options in Reason but I don't like the sound of their drum Machines ie. Dr. Rexx and Redrum. Also the beats and hits that come with reason are f**kin' everywhere.
