what is the best way to record my tracks getting the best sound quality. Im recording into cubase sx3. I was thinking about a alesis ai-3 for conversion through the eight outs. Should I do that or record track by track through the digital output? How do you guys track your music from your mpc.

If you wanna track your 2kxl, you need to be vewy vewy quiet.

Sneak up on it if you can and ambush it while it's power is still on.

Be careful though, if it hits you with it's pads your a goner and your done for.

The digital out will give you the best sound by allowing you to bypass the semi-pro quality converters on most affordable gear these days. It will be more time consuming but it's worth it.

I always use the digital outs unless I'm using converters that are at least comparable to the Digidesign 96i/o converters, in which case I would use the 8 out board.
