Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi. I have a Korg Trinity set up with my MPC. I am finding the whole MIDI thing very confusing and time consuming. I have to save a song on the Korg and the same named seq on the MPC in order to know which file goes with which. When I recall the Korg song, it doesnt always have the same instruments assigned to the midi channels. It would be so easy if i could send a program change to the Korg. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how? Thanks, Ben

Midi Program changes can be done in mpc step edit mode.

Look through you trinity manual and see what programs go with what midi numbers.

This can be a reference to your step edit adventures.

You can search for more threads like this, they are everywhere and you can read through and try the stuff that you read about. Also make sure you check in the manual to make sure you are entering the programs changes correctly in the mpc.

Hi, step edit mode is unfamiliar to me. Where do i find this and what do i do there. I had the korg given to me by a friend who isnt around anymore so i have no manual. What do you mean which programs go with which midi numbers? Thanks, Ben

Open up the 2kxl manual and type "program change" in the find block.

Hit F3 to find every instance of that phrase in the manual, that way you can find every thing it tells you on that.

Do the same thing in your korg manual, I don't know the trinity, it's a little different than the triton that I have.
