MPC HELP BADLY

I See Alot Of THreads On Here, And It Seems To Be Very Helpfull//Freindly, So Heres Tha Deal, I Need Help On Sampling, Is Their ANY sites//threads already out that gives STEP BY STEP sampling on tha MPC 2000 XL

Because, One Of My Friends Say That I Shuld Jus Start Out Like:

1. HOLD and PRESS : SHIFT 4 ((sample))

Then From Their I Have No Clue Where 2 GO?? Like, I Have a Turntable ((GEMINI XL 100)), But I dunt Know Where Tha Cords Are Suppose 2 Be ON Tha Mpc..... An If I Shuld Be Recording from "DIGITAL" or "ANALOG" on tha MPC???

PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz, IS Their Anyone THat Can Help With This Problem??? If So, Itll Be GREATLY APPRECIATED.....

I would say to use the search function on this site first. Read your XL manual. It has diagrams of hooking your MPC up to various devices. The manual also has detailed info on sampling.

Well you will need a mixer to get your turntables into the mpc. Hook phono up to mixer then hook the mixers out up to the mpc's rec in's. you will likly need a couple rca->1/4'' plug convertors to do that. Then once you got that done go into the shift+4 (rec) screen make sure analog is set. start playing the part you want to sample from your deck and hit record on mpc. hit stop when done. After you do that you have option to name the sound, retry/keep it and asign it to a pad. After that you can go into shift+5 screen and trim that sound into loop/zones by editing the start and end points. zoneing is nice to use as your can have it automaticlly set a program up for your zoned out bits (setting sounds to the pads). After that you can go ahead and lay down a beat and rock the **** out. good luck.

or cop the sample kings dvd tutorial... look for it on ebay...

1.Don't waste money on a DVD that don't need.Use the manual and try things hands on.
2.You won't necessarily need a mixer if you have a "amp" on the table.
3.Download the manual and do everything it says step for step.But if you have the table hooked up you're correct....Hit Shift+4 then once you're there it's pretty easy to sample.Just read and think,then press the corresponding buttons.
