MPC 2000 XL ZIP DRIVE PROBLEM

I have a scsi zip drive hooked up to my mpc 2000xl. When I try to load sounds from my zip disc, the mpc 2000 xl screen says write disk error. Can someone help me?

have you tried different disks? Write disks error is similar to the pc hardware issue "disk read error" which means the hard drive is bad. Your disk may be bad.

If you've tried different disk and it gives the same error on all disks, then try formatting the disk on your pc using that "FAT (16)" filing system and then try it in your MPC

Well I tried different disks, and I got that same problem. I use these same disks a month ago when I was at school, they were working fine. Someone just sent me a new zip disk with sounds on it, that wouldn't work either. It shouldn't have anything to do with my scsi cable, right? I never had this problem before.......

could be drive itself. I believe a cable problem would give you the "SCSI Conflict" error

So basically I have the wrong cable? Now when I tried to load the sounds it says, scsi conflict on id6

So change the id to 5 and turn the termination on.

I TRIED THAT, NOW IT'S BACK SAYING DISK WRITE ERROR.....
WHAT IS THE RIGHT SCSI CABLE I NEED?

Not sure if my experience is relevant to your situation or not, but if I get this 'scsi conflict' message alot. If I have my zip disc already turned on with a disc in, and I turn on my XL - when it tries to read the zip disk it gives me the same message. This also happens if I'm in the load screen and I press 'load' again, or in the save screen and I press 'save,' etc...

I just pop the disk out, put it back in and try again - then it reads the disk. Don't know if that helps.

A yo, once you solve this issue with your zip, immediately install the multi-cardreader.
