just did a gig last night and right after I loaded up the programs and sequences, I discovered that the jog wheel was off it's track. Unbelievable. Carefull when you transport the MPC it's very tempermental. The jog wheel, is soooo frickin' important.

Anyone know if I can fix this myself?

Yo, that actually happend to me in october! I to travel with my MPC...I recommend a road case! But yeah, what happens is that the little nub the jog wheel sits on fails to rotate the data obviously and that little nub is'nt cheap, I actually just got mine back from being repaired and it cost me $100.00...no joke! but now that it's back it's better then ever!
heres another word of advice if using the 2KXL.....DON"T USE THE JOGWHEEL ALL THE TIME!!! most things one would use the jogwheel for can be used in other ways such as drum pads, numeric pads, open window button and the cursor keys....only use the wheel if absolute necessary.

hope that helped

thats bullshit, it's made to use it. I'm not gonna buy a car and not gonna use my accelerate all the time. The jog wheel is something basic on the 2000...its a part of making beats

This man was talking about the 2000 xl not the 2000 and for one i got say he is right. My jog wheel is slowly breaking down. Sometimes i can move it a tad bit and and go from track 1 to 15 with out any movement.
