Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Greetings Beat Whores of Planet Earth

I need to replace the floppy drive in an MPC2000 with a floppy drive that works, no not a card reader.

Did a search but got inundated with card reader posts. Apart from one post that mentioned in passing that the 2000 drive was a standard 1.44Mb PC drive.

So can anyone confirm; 1.44Mb drive and any standard PC drive will work?

I know I can boot from external drives of other types but I'd like to get a working floppy in there anyway.

Thx

A Teac FD-235HF drive should work, that's what came out of my 2KXL.
I put in a zip drive that spec'd for a regular PC, so I think a PC floppy should work.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You read right, it's a regular pc floppy drive, nothing special.
