(((((((OS WONT STAY IN FLASH WHEN LOADED! HELP!))))))))

i gotta prob. now i had to upgrade the OS on my MPC2KXL from 1.07 to 1.14, but everytime i load it up it loads up fine, but when i turn it off i have to reload it all over agian. now someone told me to hold down rec and rec overdub buttons on mpc during startup and then it wil tell me what to do on the screen but it doesnt do anything diffrent, i load up OS from disk agian and when i reboot without disk after loading it doesnt stay on the flash. the os i got is on a pc zipdisk that i sent to akai pro to put the os on. also on the load screen next to TYPE it says pc, could that be the prob??does pc format work with mpc. also i looked in my manual and the files from the os to load up are called MPC2KXL.EXE or MPC2KXL.SYS, and the file on my disk says MPC2KXL.BIN. could this be my prob?? anyways yeah can somebody help me out to make the 1.14 OS stay in the mpc so i dont have to load it everytime to use it. please help!

"SYS" and "EXE" are for MPC2000.

"BIN" is for MPC2000kXL.

Try loading it via a floppy drive instead of ZIP.

You need to do more than just boot from the OS (which is all you are doing). You have to go into the LOAD menu and load the OS.

yeah i do load it once i boot it. i turn on the unit it askes for the disk i put it on and it loads, and then i go into load go the the file mpc2kxl.bin and i load that, and it says that it is loading to flash, and it shows the percentage of it loading up till complete, then after that it says press any button and it will restart, i do that, but then it just says mpc2kxl and it stays on that all day, pretty much freezes, ive left it on for a whole day once to see if it took time, but it jsut pretty much froze. so i turn it off and restart and im doing the same thing all over agian boot from disk load in load screen to flash and it freezes. and thats it, any idea what it could be or somthing im not doing. lemme know.
