Erasing notes real time with keys

Hi I've had problems erasing notes real time when I've got my mpc hooked up to a keyboard. When I hold erase and the pad/key I want to delete within a sequence the mpc erases all the notes within the loop. Any ideas why this is happening?

It should only erase the particular pad or key you're pressing, and only to the corresponding track you're working with.

Make sure you are using overdub and not record.

haha, that too. that's the most important thing i left out. in fact, it seems like the answer to your solution.

that's why i delete in step edit. I think that's easier to do.

Nah I am definately not in record mode and it still happens. It's only when I've got the mpc hooked up to the keyboard tho' think it must be something to do with midi messages?

But you are in overdub mode, correct?
