change pitch without stretching???

It can be done alright but not particularly well on an MPC. You will need some kind of software for a PC/MAC to do this properly. Pitch n' time and Speed are two programs/plugins that deal with time stretching and pitch shifting. Protools has the pitch shift without stretch option as well as other sequencers (I'm not sure which ones.)

If you really need to do it on an XL you could try pitch shifting and then time stretching but the results won't be great.

i have 2 samples from 2 different songs.......theyre different pitches and tempos......so ii get the tempos matched......then i need to make the pitches match..but wen u change pitch it stretches........so im ****

You wouldn't happen to have pro tools would you?!?!

Mess with the samples in a wave editor.

cause to do pitch shift and time stretch in the mpc will take a while AND then you'd still have to deal with the quality that results..


Just use a wave editor on pc/mac.

theres lots of ways to do this
some turntables have key lock
some samplers have timestretch
most software has pitch adjust

Thats the whole idea of timestetching not to change the pitch.So i dont understand your questiong. If you want to chang the pitch just change it but it will play faster or slower.

It might not be the route you wanna take but it can be done.

cool edit pro has that option---
timestretch (preserves pitch)
pitch shift (preserves tempo)

i have 2 different samples that i want to match the tempo


so i did that in time stretching



but NOW i have to match the pitches of the samples.....but wen i do ...it also alters th time........so there is no way...........


or is there?

FL Studio can do this in (virtually) realtime, timestretch to the numer of bars or beats you want you can then manipulate the pitch without changing length, I used to use this quite a lot, on the MPC? man, I seriously doubt it....
