Problem with 2kxl MCD

I can't figure this out.
When I discard parts of samples, then replace all programs and sounds, it still loads the whole sample including the unwanted part when i turn on the mpc. Now when i tried to load newer samples and programs it says ' not enough memory ' .. any thoughts? hope i worded this q ok.

So I discard in trim mode, with my CF maxed out almost to breaking point, and then save all the programs and sounds. I keep recording more samples and then when i turn the mpc off and back on, It loads the whole untrimmed samples which in turn doesn't leave enough room for the more recent samples on the card.

Because...
Your saying your cf card maxed out...
That aint got nothing to do with your sample time.
Say for example you have 202 seconds of sampling time...
You sample 200 seconds worth of shyt...
Then save the aps files...
When You power up the mpc by itself your back to 202
But when you load that aps file back into the mpc you only have 2 seconds left...
If you want to sample more shyt you need to power up the mpc...
Dont load anything...
Make your new samples and save a new aps file

Dog Your doing something wrong somewhere....
Thats why I said post step by step exactly what your doing!
When u discard in the trim screen the excess gets deleted from memory!


It sounds like this is what your doing...
Saving an aps to cf card
then loading it
then editing samples in trim screen.
then turning off the mpc and not resaving..
if thats what your doing than thats wrong
Everytime you change a program u must save it again

delete the file directly from the disk using "load" mode

Also, before you save PURGE. get rid of all samples that are not assigned to pads!

when u save an .APS u have the option to save it with sounds. if u do it, it will ask u if u wanna replace dem files.
are u workin this way?

I dont know if you are doing this or not but you have to save the program again once you edit a sample or the old one will still load. You also have to delete the old files right on the card before you load then or when you go to delelt it just deleting it from the memory not the card.

u may have saved the aps twice, one with wav's one with snd's i do this some times, also.

and also make sure it overwrites the sounds.
