Sampling, mixer turntable hookup???

So I have a Gemini Xl-100 turntable, and a behringer mixer. I need to know how to hook the mixer up to the turntable, I went to a recording studio, and the guy told me I needed a ground wire? What is that, I alread know I need a few RCA to 1/4" cables. I just need to know what a ground wire is and where I can buy one for my turntable. Thanks!

your turntable probably already has a ground wire. everything electrical needs to be grounded. its a skinny wire that would go from your turn to your mixer. there's probably a knob or a screw on the back of your mixer labeled "ground." the wire goes there.
