2000, hardware fault, known issue?

Hello folks

I think my MPC2000 might have a little problem.

Sometimes when turning the jog wheel (ie the outer one, not the data wheel) one of the pads trigger! Weird huh? Also now that I think of it, it's crashed a few times when I've been using the jog wheel to do the thing where you select the digit on a number for editing.

Are these symptoms of a known issue/fault? Has the classic a built in diagnostic feature? Can you get spares easily?

I think there was a test mode for the pads and memory, but I might be mixed up with some other device. I would try to remove the memory and see if the problem is still there when only the internal 2MB is available. And maybe a reload of the OS.
