which mpc do you have? on the 2k, i dont think you can use 2 programs at one time. i may be wrong, but i dont think the 2k has that feature. if thats the case, then you'll have to put all your drums AND chops on one program. Maybe use banks A & B for your chops, then the rest for drums or something (just as an example). but the way you described your problem, it sounds like you're using the 2kxl.

Did you create a new program when you chopped and assigned your new sample.

If you didn't create a new program you will be overwriting the old one.

ok.. so you have a chopped vinyl sample, and you've assigned these chopped samples to the 16 pads.. as a program....

correct?

ok...
now you want to add a new drum program??

you're doing the right thing by having the chopped vinyl samples on 'drum 1'..
and
yes, you do want to load the 2nd drum program onto 'drum 2'

however... when you have the Load screen up, are you loading by pressing the:

Clear button, which "erases existing P[rograms] & S[amples]"?

or are you pressing the

Load button, which "add[s] to existing P[rograms] & S[amples]"?

the only reason -existing programs- would -mysteriously- disappear, that i could think of, would be because you could be possibly selecting the Clear button when loading new programs...

i hope i was able to help...
