Media Card in 2000xL

Ok, I know alot have done it, but its my turn.

I wanted to change my zip drive. I wanna put in a mediacard reader.
Anyone know the exact models that don't give trouble. also any idea where I can get them?

I noticed all of them in comptuer stores use usb, which sucks for me.

So ide/atape, adopt native driver, etc.
On mine, only compact flash cards works, sd not.

I installed the Drive, didn't have to do a single thing. I bought a 1gb SD card, and popped it in, and the akai did its own partition and created two 500mbs, and I was on my way.. Thanks alot guys..

i got fuked around, i asked here what jumper settings i needed, and was told the wrong ones, not only that i used the wrong jumper pins that didnt really fit the pins on the card reader. The pcd-47b rocks, if u can find one on ebay good luck.

Yup..thats the same one I picked up..Ordered it online, came within a week.. I think Ipaid like 26pounds.. not bad at all..

yea the card readers are cheaper then the zip drives vst sells
