Hello All,
I just received an MPC-2000 from a friend. He only gave me the OS disk (1.72) which seems to work fine. I was told there was a problem with the right-most column of pads/triggers - and sure enough, they do not appear to be active. I can sample into the unit fine - but cannot assign any samples to the rightmost pads - as they are not "seen" by the system for assignment (or other) purposes.
As I'm not too familiar with the machine, I'm wondering if there's a simple self-diagnostics I could run that might help verify/isolate the problem. Barring that, is there a fairly safe home-brew method of checking the mechanics of the pad? Could it be nothing more than a loose wire, etc.?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
all the best -ant.
