I'm lookin' for some PHAT ASS KITS that industry cats use! I'm about to work on my crews mixtape and I jus need some shit that kats would feel na mean? I jus hope cats don't come in here tryna flame me an' shit, I'm jus askin' if a cat might be coo enough to toss me some kits!

Why don't you create some kits of your own ?? I'm sure that the right samples will do the job and that 'kats' will fell them !

I must agree, I used to want kits but it is much more fune creating ur own and you wil be happy know ing that no one else will have your soundforthe most part. Ihae a couole of kits but my best tracks are from sounds and drums i created my self. I don't have many kits so I wouldn't want to offer them too you (Wuntu) cause you may have them already (kanye, justblaze and 9th wonder kits)

I have only been making tracks for a few months now and thought the same when i started out. I always was looking for the sounds i heard on the radio but i realized that at the end of the day if it sounds good it sounds good. Start messing with different sounds and layering them, maybe putting some effects on them, whatever you got to do to get that the sound your looking for.

Dont know if that helped at all but if it didnt search the forums theres some posts with free kits for download, ive gotten a bunch of them. Recently one i got was the willy mammoth kit which im quite impressed with so far, lots of hot drum samples.

Oh no doubt yo, thanks for the help ya'll! Its jus kinda hard for me na mean, I don't really have a keyboard sequencer I'm jus workin' wit my Axiom 61 key (Which I'm tryin' to sell) and My mpc2000! Thats why I miss my Korg Triton, I could flip sounds wit that thing! My dad took it back tho

why not use your 2k to layer your drums and such

Well since this post is already here, how does one go about making thier own kits? Ive never made a kit in my life. Ive downloaded several but none to immaculate satifaction. Creating my own kit sounds cool as hell but i dont know the first thing about it. Help a brotha out?

when people say they're making their own kits, i take it as they are layering and manipulating drum hits they have to make them their own....

instead of trying to find what the "pros" use, why not layer and eq and compress and build your own kits to get your own sound...

i may be wrong though...

Immaculate satisfaction, wow, never heard it put like that, haha. If you want something done right you gotta do it yourself.
Take the easy way out and you will never be fully satisfied (I wouldn't).

Take the time to get into your music, acheive your own sound, challenge yourself, have fun while doing it. It can ONLY make you better, trail and error build character, it also builds better kits, with time and experience that is.

Meaning, create what you want, create that "immaculate" kit.

Those other kits weren't made for you and your tastes.

You can build your own..

What I find most times, when I hear kits my boys pick up ---
Most of them are the same sounds..
Someone just jacked a Dre. Track and ripped it using Ryc.
And they added something in the mix to make it sound like something you already have.

Take an 808, and do what you can do with it, but trying to find the one Dre. used is almost lame. In fact, you might never get it, unless you jack it off the track.

Do your own thing is what I say. I have more people coming over asking me to buy my Kits, when they hear my 808 Can...

THen the look at me crazy when I tell them it is just a sample of me killing a Coors Light Can - on top of an old DR. 660 808.

I sometimes just take a day and think of odd sounds I like to make up, and then keep what works.
