Is there a way to play bass on the MPC?...I'm not talking about a sample, I'm talking about playing the notes like....C D E F etc..I couldn't find this in the manual(MPC2000XL manual) if it's in there could I get the chapter or page number.....Thanks

Just 2 days ago I plugged a Live Bass onto my MPC Line-In (i got a 1000 though) and just played and sampled it live. If ypu know the basic structure of a string instrument you can easily sample each note and create a real natural sounding bass program with 2 octaves one one bank, that makes a total of 8 octaves on all 4 banks - thats more than enough for bass I guess.
And don't just sample only one note like lamp said. Coz the patched notes mostly done match the real tune of the note 100 per cent. you will get crazy dissonances and I bet you want have that.

Is it possible to use velocity switching between the sustained and ghost notes?
