Hooking up mpc to record player

I got a question about hooking the MPC up. I am used to hooking it up to a MIDI keyboard or a mixer with MIDI inputs, but I have an old Technics record player from about 10 or 12 years back, and it doesn't have any MIDI connections, only RCA connections. Is there any way I can still hook the MPC2000XL up to the record player, or do I need a MIDI connection in order to do it?

Rule 1 - Midi does not carry sound...It is more a type of data/instruction.
You dont hook up midi devices to transmit audio - It cant!

You'l need to hook that deck up to a DJ mixer (to amp it ) then send the outs to the mixer then sample into the mpc's REC in's

does it HAVE to go into a mixer after the dj mixer then to the mpc? cuz i have a table hookt up to a dj mixer but not seein how it goes into the mpc....thanks

Pkug ur outs of the mixer into the ins of the mp..and yea u need it to amplify the sound of ur turntable or else it will be mad low

In my case my DJ mixer has 1/4" outs so I skipped the rca -> 1/4", but I couldn't find a stereo 1/4" cable so I ran two single mono 1/4" audio cables, one from the left out on the mixer to the left in on the MPC, one from the right out on the mixer to the left in on the MPC. Does anyone know if this will cause me problems?

it will be fine but when you sample in stero it will use your memory up and right now for you in stero mode you only have 10 seconds of sample time......so if you sample and try to load up drums as well you may run out of space.......by the way, its on the way to you Aster
