Just figured I would put my 2 cents. I bought the cream one frmo ebay. $600 good deal. Then I found this sight and bought the cover, I am still waiting for the front panel. I can switch now, BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

There is no difference between the two apart from the cosmetics.

As far as Numark altering the MPC, thats not true. Numark have only taken over distribution & sales of akai.

Saying that, looking at the new pieces of shit akai have released over the past two years it's easy for cats to think that they've been tampering with the xl line.
