2000xl loading problems

so when i turn on the machine it greets me with "insert MPC200XL disk !" i dont know that i have the original start up disk. i bought this machine second hand. is that what its asking for? the start up disk? and when i load a disk w/ samples it works fine, but otherwise i cant get passed this first command.

how can u load sounds if u havent loaded the start up disk? if u cant get past the ''insert mpc 2000xl disk'' (which is the start up disk) than u cant load anything. im a little confused here. wierd, i dont need a start up disk for my xl.
