It's the same 1.44, 3.5 inch floppy drive you would buy for a PC. No difference and the cables are the same inside.

I took the 3.5 floppy drive out and put it in my wifeys PC cuz hers crapped out on her and because I upgraded to a Zip250 for my MPC2kxl.
The drive worked fine in the PC so like mrfaia said, there was no difference for the type of floppy drive.

as stated by the other gentleman, it is the same drive that you would use in your computer (probably pick one up for about $12.00 (U.S.). it should connect right into the existing wires in your mpc. -k.l.
