when i access the track mute screen when a seqence is playing some of the pads will be listed as a track being used(with sounds that i am actually using) and there are also some tracks used with sounds that arent in my sequence..

hope that makes sense..

any idea's whats going on?

this happens after restarting the mpc

i've had similar problems in the past and usually they can be traced to one of two things.

a) an external midi device is triggering your pads during playback.

b) you recorded something extra on one of your tracks.

to route the problem out… unplug all external devices. Then, if problems persist, mute and un-mute each track separately to see which one is causing the pads to be triggering in an undesired manor. once you figure out which is the problem track go through step edit and delete the problem notes. you may also have a midi channel assigned to a track triggering your internal samples that is also being sent to your external gear (beside DRUM: device1-16). that's always something to look for too.

hope that helps,

sometimes when you are flying through sets of sounds, playing with params, you may accidentally hit the jog wheel on the assign screen, which in that case, the order should still be there in your sequence, but its some other sound.
