Same function.

An internal CARD reader is, internal.
All wiring/cabling for data/addressing/power is internal.

An external CARD reader is, external.
All wiring/cabling for data/addressing/power is external.

Necessary for both ? Depends what you're doing.

Pretty simple .

Yes ?

Either one will work its just a matter of which route you want to take. Internal or External. Internal is actually going to be alot cheaper cause most of those external card readers are like 100 bucks. I say go for the internal unless you build your own external scsi card reader. But to clarify again either one will allow you to get sounds back and forth from the PC as long as the PC has an card reader.

Do you know what an card reader is and what it looks like? If so just look at your PC and see if it has it. If your PC is an older model then more than likely it doesnt. If you just recently purchased it then it prolly does. If not you can buy an USB or Internal one for your PC.
