Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I was all set to order the mpc 1000 when I saw an ad from a local seller wanting to sell his 2000xl. I went to take a look at it and everything seemed okay. He originally wanted $750 for stock xl. I pointed out to him the lack of memory or zip drive and he was willing to go down to $600. Unfortunately, I couldn’t test out the unit to make sure everything works. I mentioned to him that I was planning the 1000 purchase and I probably can talk him down to $500 (motivated seller). Convince me that I should buy it and do the upgrades. Why would a 2000xl purchase be a better one especially for that price? :?

the price looks good....you have to know that for a very tight use,you need to add to your XL a ZIP drive(internal or external...) and a SCSI cd-rom drive if you want to use CD-rom of sounds in the Akai format....concerning the MPC 1000,you have to use it connected to your computer cos' it cannot be connected to an external USB CD-rom DRive...I personally use a classic 2 K with ZIP and SCSI cd-rom drives, all external and i love my little set up.....hope this can help you...PEACE.

dude you got to convince yourself.......you should just check the akaipro website site and compare the two.......2000xl is what i have but i hear the 1000 is good it just lacks in some of the features that the 2000xl has

Good luck in yor decision

personally id go with the 2000xl

Check the specs, check the features, check your wallet and convince yourself man.
