I have an akai mpc 2000 sampler. I used to have a scsi hard drive for it but ilost it while moving house, and have been trying for the last couple of weeks to track down another scsi hards drive which is proving pretty difficult, as apparently their fairly outdated,.
I suddenly realised however that scsi to usb converter leads must exist, and they do ive found them.
(1) If i bought a scsi to usb converter lead, put the scsi end in my sampler and the usb lead in the hard drive would this still work for saving my stuff from the sampler, or does it have to be a scsi drive specifically
(2) Presuming (1) works, would i also be able to do it using a usb flash pen drive, rather than usb external hard drive
(3) presuming (1) is true does anyone know any good uk stockists of these converters, although i have found they do exist, tracking down non-american places to get em seems difficult, have tried searcing on pc world and maplin websites and both dont have any, anyone got any ideas of where to try
If anyone knows the answer to this id greatly appreciater it as it will be a lot easier to get these components than its seems to be to get a scsi hard drive, and also will be able to plug usb drive straight into my computer to put samples directly on it.
Nice1
