is this a slow way of making a song?

the music i try and make is hiphop and r&b.
when i try and make keyboard based music i usually work off 4 bars and loop the rest of the verse, and make variations where needed........
is it common for most people to add the drums in real time or by step?
i play the keyboard parts and use the MPC as a sequencer.

is this alright?

There is no format really patna.

Just do what you feel.

As Long as you have the song in a Structure
like

4or8 Bar Intro
16 Bar Verse
4or8 Bar Chorus (Hook typically 4 Barz in Rap)
4o8 Bar Outro

You straight, and I am assuming you know you gotz 3 verses in a song.

Note: R&B shitz is structured a lil different because you gone have a Bridge and all dat shitz. But Um, somebody else might want break it down to you.

I do some R&B stuff, and i been playin the keys for a longgggg time, so ma keyboardin is tight..... But there is no "slow way" to make a song... I mean, it might seem slow to you, but if thats the way you go to make a hot product then thats all that matters dawg on some real....

i usally do my drum parts step by step,then copy and make the changes when needed,like you it seems....

yeah music production is not a race....
