Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Macvore;
MPC Editor is a PC program. Won't work for us Mac users. But, check out MPCPGMMaker for the Mac [OSX & OS9]. The links are here somewhere.

As for batch name change software:

OSX:
Quick Rename
Renamer4Mac

OS9
qd Renamer

Good luck.

MPCPGM maker is for MAC..

in my system (PCpentium1.7, WinXp,Akai Mpc2000Xl Os v.1.14 ) the only problem with the Mpc Editor is when it renames the longname files, my MPC won't read that file, and doesn't recognize the floppy as an MPC formatted. But if I use simple 8 char. names (exe:00000012) the problem never appeared and ev'thing works fine. I think is a bug of the editor, because I tried to change the floppy drive, and I used different floppies (preformatted with the MPC)

Use PC formatted disks and stick to 8 character filenames.. You might have problems any other way you do it.. Different peeps steadily try to test what works and what doesn't and unfortunately are testing with their primary disks and are then mad when stuff gets renamed and unreadable.
By all means go ahead and test but DON"T use your primary disk, use a completely different disk to mess around with so as not to jack up your primary.. Back up, BACK up, BACK UP....Cannot be reiterated enough.

Lampdog...you said use PC formatted disks. Should I do this even though MPCPgmMaker is meant to exchange between MPC and MACS? I ask this because I am trying out MPCPgmMaker and can create a program but can not load it into the MPC. The zips I am using were originally MAC formatted but I then formatted them in the MPC. After seeing your post I thought maybe the PC format issue might be the issue.
Thank you

I don't have a mac, I don't have an answer for that one. I have a pc, and I format in fat/fat16, that way my cf card will be readable in both pc an mpc.
