The 2000 i bought needed a new screen. I was going to have a pro fix it, but after have read dstruction's post.
I decided that i could do the repair myself. So I ordered a new screen for vst. I was going to take pics anyway, so I could put it back together if i missed up. So in the flavor of the op, i decided to take more pics and post here. So lets great started.
First thing is to get the case off. Use a static strap or at least ground yourself, by touch the metal of the case. The are two screws on each side of the mpc 2000.
Remove the 2 here...
and the two here....
Next, remove the 3 screws on the back of the mpc.
Then, tilled the mpc up gently and remove the 3 screws under the cap.
Now lay your mpc back on her,( yes its a girl), feet. Then you can gently pull the cap off, by pulling parallel to the table.
Now there are 3 screws on the front hold down the case. My only had 2 tho. Remove these.
Now your can removed the cover . Pretty...
Now i used some can air and clean the insides. Using some windex and clean the metal outter case.
Now remove these screws so that you can slide this part back a little.
Two plugs hold the lcd to the mainboard.
Now put it back together in the reverse order.
